UM, SO THEY OFFER FREE SERVICES SUCH AS JOB SEARCH, JOB READINESS, WORKSHOPS, RESUME INTERVIEW PREP, COMPUTER AND INTERNET ACCESS, AND ONE-ON-ONE SUPPORT FOR ADVISORS.

SO THIS WILL BE A MONTHLY EVENT, WE'LL HOPING IT PICKS UP.

UM, WE HAVE PEOPLE LIKE WAITING OUTSIDE OF LIFE IN THE MORNING, SO THAT WAS REALLY GREAT.

UM, AND OUR LITERACY MANAGER, MC, HE INTERVIEWED SIX INTERNS WHO HAD A LOT OF INTEREST IN THE LIBRARY WHO CHOSE THREE, BUT MOSTLY BE HELPING OUT IN LIKE OUR LITERACY DEPARTMENT AND OUR CHILDREN DEPARTMENT, , AND ALSO , .

UM, AND SO THEIR JOB WAS GONNA PEER WHOLE MONTH, ALMOST LIKE AN ACTIVE JOB.

SO, UH, ING, THEY'RE RENAL WORK FULL DAY.

SO IT'S GONNA GIVE THEM AN OPPORTUNITY TO SEE WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE IN THE FIELD, BUT ALSO TO HAVE LIKE A REAL JOB AND RESPONSIBILITIES APPROACH.

BUT HE'S GONE TO, TO WORK FOR THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT IN THEIR CATALOGING DEPARTMENT WHERE HE'LL HAVE A MUCH CALMER FIRE LIBRARY EXPERIENCE, BUT WE WILL, WE'LL DEFINITELY MISS HIM.

WE ALSO LOST THE ISSA, SHE WAS OUR TION.

SHE WENT US ABOUT THREE YEARS.

SHE IS A LIBRARIAN, SO SHE GOT A POSITION AT, UH, TULA VISTA.

AND YOU KNOW, THEY GAVE HER ALL OF OUR HOURS OUT LIBRARIAN NEW PETE.

BUT WE ARE GETTING THIS SMALL, BUT WE ARE GOING TO BE GETTING, UM, THREE NOON LIBRARY AID.

SO WE HAVE TWO START TECHNICALLY TODAY.

THEY'LL, THEY'LL JOIN US FOR OUR FIRST TIME TOMORROW.

UM, ONE OF 'EM WILL BE IN OUR CERTIFICATION DEPARTMENT, ONE WILL BE IN OUR LITERACY, AND THEN WE'RE GONNA BE BRINGING ON ANOTHER LIBRARY AID AS WELL AT THAT SPLIT BETWEEN GRAND CHILDREN.

SO, YOU KNOW, WE STARTED TO SEE SOME GO, BUT OUR GOAL IS FOR EVERYBODY TO GET A BETTER, YOU KNOW, JOB MOVE, GROW.

AND THEN, UM, OUR CHILDREN'S SERVICES DEPARTMENT PARTNERED WITH I IRA HARVARDS IN ELEMENTARY KID THIS YEAR.

WE COME OUT LITERACY NIGHT FOR THEIR STUDENTS.

UH, LIBRARY STAFF, PROMOTED LIBRARY SERVICES.

THEY LEARNED STORY TIME.

THEY PROVIDED TRACKS FOR ABOUT 75 STUDENTS IN IT.

THE LIBRARY, HAS ALSO PROVIDED A CLASS FOR, FOR EVERY SEVENTH GRADE CLASS, ENGLISH CLASS FROM MASTER CERTIFICATE SCHOOL THAT ALL THE LIBRARY CLASS.

AND THIS IS OUR SECOND YEAR DOING.

SO, UH, THE TEACHERS REACH OUT AGAIN, THEY WANT, THEY WANT US TO BE LIKE INVOLVED AND GET THEM AS THEIR MIDDLE SCHOOL LIBRARY RESOURCE.

VERY SUCCESSFUL.

UM, TEACHERS WERE VERY HAPPY.

ARE THERE ANY, UM, UPDATES ON THE STRATEGIC PLANNING? UH, SO THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY UPDATES FROM THE CITY CURRENTLY RIGHT NOW THEY JUST ARE COMPLETING TWO WORKSHOPS FOR THEIR MANAGERS AND EXECUTIVE TEAM.

SO THE MANAGERS DID A WORKSHOP, UH, MONDAY AND DAY AT THE LIBRARY, AND THEN TOMORROW THE EXECUTIVE TEAM ON FRIDAY WE'LL DO ANOTHER WORKSHOP.

SO THIS IS GONNA HELP START THAT PROCESS OF PLANNING.

UM, AS FOR THE LIBRARY, THE STAFF HAS BEEN GIVEN A MONTH, UH, DIRECTLY TO TAKE A LOOK AT OUR CURRENT STRATEGIC PLAN, THE CITY'S STRATEGIC PLAN, AND THEN WHAT OUR, OUR GAP PLAN IS RIGHT NOW.

AND WE'RE GONNA HAVE EVERY DEPARTMENT PUT TOGETHER PROVIDE LIKE OBJECTIVES THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE NEXT FIVE YEARS AND HOW EITHER THEIR DEPARTMENT OR AS A TEAM CAN ACCOMPLISH THAT.

UM, AND SO WE'RE STARTING OUR PLANNING, UM, AT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT, OR TECHNICALLY APRIL 29TH, BUT THE BEGINNING OF NEXT MONTH TO GET OURSELVES AHEAD.

SO THEN WE DO THAT LIBRARY IS READY.

SO WE, WE WANT, AND OF COURSE AS WE DO THAT, WE'LL START BRINGING THINGS TO YOU GUYS, GET YOUR OPINIONS, YOUR THOUGHTS.

YEAH, SO THEY'RE, SO EACH CERTAIN DEPARTMENTS HAVE THESE FUNDS THAT ARE SET ASIDE AND IT'S ESSENTIALLY LIKE THEY'RE ONLY GONNA BE USED FOR LIKE UPGRADE SPACE TERMS OF LIKE, YOU HAVE A ROOM THAT'S TOO SMALL AND YOU WANNA UTILIZE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE.

AND SO NOW THAT YOU MENTIONED THAT YOU DID FOR IT TO MIDDLE SCHOOL, THAT YOU FEEL THE BEST, LIKE FOR THE MIDDLE SCHOOL, IS THERE A WAY THAT YOU COULD DO IT FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AGE KIDS? BECAUSE LIKE, ALL THE LITTLE KIDS, SO EVERY TIME WE GO EVERY MONTH TO THE BOOK STORE AND WE VOLUNTEER, I MAKE A FLYER THAT SAYS, BE THERE.

WE NEED HELP GETTING A LIBRARY CARD.

UM, DEPENDING ON THE SUPPLY OF BOOKS THOUGH, THAT'S WHERE IT'S LIKE, CAN WE GIVE THEM AWAY OR NOT? BECAUSE WE ARE ALL BASED ALL OF OUR BOOKS DOWN TO LITERACY.

AND USUALLY THEY'LL GET A BIG CHUNK OF THAT AND THAT'LL OVER FOR LIKE A YEAR, YEAR AND A HALF.

BUT THEN AT CERTAIN POINTS YOU'RE DOWN TO LIKE THE ONES THAT ALL THE KIDS ARE LIKE, YOU KNOW, LIKE, SO THAT'S BASED ON WHAT OUR INVENTORY IS.

BUT WE STILL DO CLASS VISITS.

WE STILL DO, UM, YOU KNOW, TOWARDS THE LIBRARY AND ALL THAT KIND STUFF.
