[00:00:02]

ALRIGHT.

OKAY.

IT'S 5 31, BUT THE ORDER.

ALRIGHT, UH, LET ME TAKE ROLL CALL.

UH, MARGARET HERE.

UH, BRADLEY HERE.

CINDY HERE.

SANNE? YES.

UH, JAKE IS ABSENT AND TRISTAN HERE.

WONDERFUL.

ALL HAVING ORDER.

OKAY, I'M GONNA GO ON PUBLIC COMMENTS.

DO WE HAVE ANY DO PASS? ALTHOUGH IT IS ON THE ITEM THREE, BUT IT IS UP TO YOU WHEN YOU WANT.

OH, FOR SURE.

YEAH.

YOU OKAY? SO, UM, LET'S GO TO THE AGENDA.

I WAS SIR CONFUSED, UM, BECAUSE, UM, I'M SORRY.

THE, UM, CONSENT AGENDA ONLY HAS THE APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA AND THE APPROVAL, THE MAY MINUTES.

IT DOESN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE, UH, WARRANT.

NO, I THOUGHT WAS THREE.

SARAH, FOCUS ON AND OKAY.

WE'LL ADD, UH, NUMBER THREE WOULD BE THE APPROVAL OF THE WARRANT.

OKAY.

AND THAT WILL BE, WE JUST REMEMBER THE OTHER ITEMS. 4, 5, 6.

AND I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE AGENDA.

AND MINUTES SECOND.

OKAY, WE SECOND TO APPROVE ONE AND TWO OF THE CONSENT AGENDA.

A MARGARET AYE.

AYE.

CYNTHIA.

AYE.

JUST AYE.

OKAY.

OKAY, SO WE'RE GO NOW TO THE, WELL THERE WERE TWO DIFFERENT CONFERENCES, CORRECT? ANYBODY HAVE, OH, , IS THERE ANY COMMENTS OR QUESTIONS ABOUT WARRANT? IT'S NOT HONOR.

RETAIN A MOTION TO APPROVE.

I MOVE THAT WE APPROVE THE DIVORCE.

SECOND, WE CONTINUE TO APPROVE THE WARRANT, RIGHT, MARGARET? AYE BRADLEY? AYE.

CYNTHIA.

AYE.

AYE.

OKAY.

APPROVED.

OKAY, I'M FORWARD.

AND, UH, THE UTILIZE GRANT AGREEMENT AND WAIVER.

SO YOU'VE ALREADY RECEIVED A COPY OF THE AGREEMENT AND WAIVER.

DID YOU WANNA SPEAK FROM THAT? UH, SO THE AGREEMENT AND WAIVER HAS BEEN SENT TO THE CITY ATTORNEY'S OFFICE AND HAS BEEN APPROVED BY 'EM.

UM, IT IS PRETTY STANDARD.

WE DID FACE IT OFF OF OTHER LIBRARY SYSTEMS THAT HAD SIMILAR, UM, UH, TOOL LENDING OR ITEM LENDING LIBRARIES.

OKAY.

UM, MR, YOU WANNA MAKE SURE COMMENT NOW? SURE.

SIGN HUNDRED.

I WANNA ADDRESS THE ASPECT OF THE WAIVER ABOUT LIABILITY, NOT CONCERNED ABOUT THE TOOLS THEMSELVES GETTING LOCKED.

THAT'S .

SO PROCEDURALLY, THE CITY COUNCIL WAS VERY CLEAR IN FALL OF 2023 THAT WHEN THE LIBRARY ACCEPTED THE GRANT REGARDING THIS, THEY WANTED THE LIBRARY TO COME BACK THE PRESENTATION TO THE CITY COUNCIL ABOUT THE SPECIFICS OF WHAT WAS BEING PROPOSED ON THIS.

AND THAT HAS NEVER TAKEN PLACE.

NOW HERE'S BE THAT AS IT MAY LET ME ADDRESS WHY I CONCERN IS THIS IS JUST AN INHERENTLY THAT IDEA.

IF YOU LOOK THROUGH THE TOOLS THAT HAVE BEEN BOUGHT ON, WE'VE GOT THINGS THAT INVOLVE ELECTRICAL WORK, WE'VE GOT THINGS THAT INVOLVE SHARP OBJECTS.

WE'VE GOT THINGS THAT INVOLVE OTHER MECHANICAL THINGS THAT HAVE AN INHERENT RISK OF HAZARD.

THE WAIVER FORM THAT YOU HAVE IS NOT GONNA DO ANY GOOD, BUT PRETEND THAT YOU DON'T BELIEVE IT, THAT'S OKAY.

THE REASON THE CITY WILL END UP WITH A LOT OF EXPENSE FROM A RISK MANAGEMENT STANDPOINT, IT'S GONNA GET MEASURED IN THE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS FROM HAVING THIS PROGRAM, IS THAT PEOPLE WILL CLAIM THAT THEY WERE INJURED AND THAT IT WAS THE CITY'S FAULT FOR GIVING THE TOOL

[00:05:01]

THAT WASN'T PROPER, IT WASN'T WORKING, IT WAS DEFECTIVE.

AND THE ONLY PLACE WHERE A JUDGE HAS ANY OPPORTUNITY TO WEIGH IN ON THAT ISSUE AND SAID, WAIT A MINUTE HERE, MR. WHATEVER YOU SIGN A WAIVER.

THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN UNTIL THE STATE IS ALREADY IN LITIGATION AND THE CITY OF NATURAL CITY HAS HAD TO SPEND TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS ON LAWYERS.

AND THEN MAYBE THE JUDGE WILL SAY THE WAIVER APPLIES AND MAYBE THE SAY WON'T.

SO UNFORTUNATELY, AS NICE AS THIS PROGRAM SOUNDS IN THE ABSTRACT, AS A PRACTICAL MATTER, WHAT YOU'RE GONNA BE DOING IF YOU APPROVE THIS PROGRAM IS YOU'RE GONNA BE EXPOSING THE TAX PAYER TO HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF MONEY.

UNFORTUNATELY, WE GUARANTEE YOU IT'S GONNA HAPPEN.

AND SO IF YOU THINK THAT IT'S HELPFUL TO SAVE COMMUNITY $200 OF, NOW I CAN BORROW UP THIS DEVICE OR THAT DEVICE RATHER THAN HAVING TO BUY ONE OR READ IT FROM A PLACE.

BUT UNFORTUNATELY, YOU'RE GONNA BE COSTING US ATON AND I WANNA MAKE YOU AWARE OF THAT.

THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

UM, I WANT, I WOULD LIKE TO GO OVER THE AGREEMENT, RIGHT? UM, FOUR A SAYS NO MORE THAN FIVE TOOLS CAN BE BROUGHT AT ONE TIME.

I THINK THAT SHOULD BE CHANGED TO TWO RATHER THAN FIVE TOOLS AT ONE TIME.

WELL, SOMETIMES WE HAVE SMALLER TOOLS, SO, YOU KNOW, IF YOU HAVE A, A SET OF A COUPLE THINGS THAT YOU MIGHT NEED, YOU MIGHT NEED THREE OR FOUR ITEMS TO COMPLETE A CERTAIN PROJECT.

UM, IT IS TYPICALLY IN WHAT WE NOTICE IN OTHER SYSTEMS IS THE LARGER TOOL.

USUALLY PEOPLE CHECK OUT ONE OR TWO, WHEREAS LIKE SMALLER TOOLS FOR A SPECIFIC JOB THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE, THEY MIGHT CHECK OUT ELECTRIC FIVE, WHY DON'T WE SAY ONE POWER TWO? AND THEN FIVE TOOLS, ONE OF THEM TO BE A COLLEGE.

I WOULD LIKE TO, UM, AND THIS ALSO ADDRESSES SOMETHING THAT JOAN TALKS ABOUT.

UM, HOW ARE OTHER PEOPLE DOING THESE PROGRAMS AND ARE THEY HAVING ISSUES LIKE WITH LIABILITY AND HOW MANY TOOLS DO THEY THINK IS RIGHT TO CHECKOUT? BECAUSE THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO DO JOBS ON NEED.

I I I DO PROJECTS.

I I NEED TO BORROW THIS, YOU KNOW, BEING LIMITED TO TWO.

MY, I DON'T, I MEAN, I, I UNDERSTAND WHY YOU'RE CONCERNED, BUT, UM, YOU KNOW, AND ON THE OTHER HAND, AND, AND IT MIGHT BE BETTER TO A LITTLE BIT, I'M NOT, I DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH THIS AND I WAS CURIOUS OF HOW OTHER OTHER PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN THIS TERMS OF PROJECT, HOW THEY, SO MANY OF THEM, THEY CALL 'EM, UM, ATIVE THINGS, NOT JUST TOOLS.

OURS WAS MORE SPECIFIC TO TOOLS, ALTHOUGH WE DO HAVE OTHER ITEMS TO INCLUDE IT.

UM, THERE OBVIOUSLY ARE LIABILITIES WITH ANY SORT OF TOOL THAT YOU'RE LENDING.

UM, ANYBODY WHO'S CHECKING OUT THE TOOLS, THERE IS GOING TO BE A MANUAL THAT IS PRESENTED WITH THE ITEM SO THAT THEY'RE AWARE OF HOW TO USE THE TOOL APPROPRIATELY.

WE'LL ALSO BE PROVIDING, UM, SOME CLASSES IN CONJUNCTION WITH, UM, UH, PROBABLY ALL OF THE GARDENS AS WELL AS WE FIX THE CLINIC IN THE FUTURE, THAT WILL, UM, DO DEMONSTRATIONS ON HOW TO USE TOOLS SAFELY, UM, SO THAT WE CAN MAKE SURE THAT WE DON'T HAVE THESE LIABILITY ISSUES THAT OCCUR.

UH, BUT THE MAJORITY OF OTHER LIBRARY THINGS, IT'S A VERY SIMILAR SYSTEM.

THEY DO HAVE A LIMIT.

IT IS USUALLY, UM, FIVE TO 10 ITEMS DEPENDING ON, OF COURSE, WHAT THE ITEM IS AND HOW LARGE THEIR SELECTION IS.

UM, THEY ALL HAVE WAIVERS, WHICH WE DID USE, UM, AS EXAMPLES TO CREATE THE WAIVER THAT WE HAVE HERE.

UM, AND LIKE I DID SAY THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY HAS REVIEWED THIS AND THEY ARE HAPPY WITH THE VERBIAGE AND, UM, WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM THE PERSON TO CHECK OUT THE ITEMS. UM, YOU KNOW, TOOLS WILL NOT BE CHECKED OUT TO ANYBODY WHO IS UNDER AGE OF 18.

SO THERE IS, YOU KNOW, THEY WON'T BE CHECKING OUT TO CHILDREN OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

SO IT'LL ALL BE ADULTS WHO ARE TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ITEMS, AND THAT'S HOW THE MAJORITY OF, UM, TOOL AND ITEM LIKE LIBRARIES.

UM, I, I BELIEVE, I BELIEVE LA COUNTY HAS ONE.

UM, I THINK ORANGE COUNTY HAS ONE AS WELL.

I THINK LONG BEACH.

SO WE USE KIND OF THEIR CALIFORNIA LIBRARIES TO GIVE OUR SUBSTANCE HERE.

UM, AS FOR THE, UM, AMOUNT OF ITEMS, I, I THINK, YOU KNOW, LIKE BRADLEY SAID, USUALLY WHEN YOU ARE SOMEBODY WHO IS DOING A PROJECT, YOU YOU TYPICALLY WANT MORE THAN ONE OR TWO ITEMS, EVEN IF IT'S A

[00:10:01]

POWER, IT MIGHT BE A POWER DRILL AND IT MIGHT BE A POWER SAW, YOU KNOW, LIKE THEY'RE SEPARATE ENTITIES, SO YOU LIMIT THEM, YOU JUST ONE ITEM, THEY'RE GONNA HAVE TO CONTINUE, COME BACK.

IF THE NEXT ITEM JUST , WHICH IS NOT TYPICALLY WHAT PEOPLE WANT DO, YOU ARE INVESTED IN THAT.

UH, I HAVE A QUESTION.

WHEN WOULD THIS, IF WE WERE TO APPROVE THIS, WHEN WOULD THE TOOLS BE AVAILABLE FOR SPRINTING? SO CURRENTLY WE'RE STILL ON THE PROCESS OF ORDERING TOOLS AND CREATING THE LIBRARY ITSELF.

UM, WE'RE ONBOARDING A NEW DATABASE SO THAT WE CAN POST IT AND CHECK THEM OUT.

UM, WE'RE LOOKING AT A PROJECTED OPENING DATE OF, UM, LIKE MID-JULY FOR THE ACTUAL LIBRARY ITSELF.

NOW, I WILL TELL YOU, THE LIBRARY ITSELF IS LOCATED SORT OF IN A BACK ROOM OF, OF THE, THE GENERAL LIBRARY.

AND IT, UM, WILL BE MONITORED BY STAFF AT ALL TIMES.

SO WHENEVER IT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC, THERE WILL BE A STAFF MEMBER IN THERE FOR SAFETY REASONS.

AND, UM, AND THEY WILL PROVIDE EVERYBODY WHO CHECKS OUT WITH THE WAIVER WITH, UM, THE CONDITIONS AS WELL AS WITH, UM, INSTRUCTION MANUALS, UM, REFERENCES FOR VIDEOS, THINGS LIKE THAT, SO THAT THEY LEARN HOW APPROPRIATE IT, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN HERE THAT THERE'S GONNA BE A MANUAL FOR EVERY OH, AND CLASSES, THEY ATTEND THOSE CLASSES BEFORE THEY ARE GIVEN THE, SO THE, THE CLASSES ARE, UM, IN ADDITION TO, IT'S NOT PART OF THE WHITER.

SO IT IS SOMETHING THAT THEY DON'T HAVE TO ATTEND.

IT'S NOT A REQUIREMENT.

IT IS, UH, UM, SOMETHING THAT WE ARE OFFERING AS A SUPPLEMENTAL TO IT SO THAT PEOPLE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN HOW TO USE THEM APPROPRIATELY.

UM, BUT I DO BELIEVE IT SAYS, UM, I BELIEVE IN ONE OF, ONE OF THE DOCUMENTS IT DOES TALK ABOUT WHICH SHOULD BE, UM, MANUALS PROVIDED WITH THE TOOLS.

AND WE DID DISCUSS THAT WITH THE CITY ATTORNEY AS WELL.

OKAY.

I STILL BELIEVE THAT, WELL, THAT MAYBE TWO POWER TO A MAXIMUM.

AND ONE OF THE REASONS IS THAT I WOULD HATE FOR SOMEBODY TO CHECK OUT FIVE POWER TOOLS AND THEY RETURN ON, UH, I, THERE'S ONLY SO MUCH THAT CAN, THAT'S GONNA BE VERY LIMITED WHAT IS RENEWED, IF ANYTHING AT ALL.

COOL.

AND, AND IT'S, IT, YOU HAVE TO KIND OF THINK OF IT AS AN EXTENSION OF THE BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIALS WE HAVE IN THE LIBRARY, BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE, YOU KNOW, AS MUCH AS WE'D LIKE TO RETAIN EVERYTHING, THINGS GET DAMAGED OR LOST OR STOLEN, UM, WHICH, YOU KNOW, WE'VE DISCOVERED OVER TIME, AND THAT IS SORT OF THE NATURE OF THE LIBRARY.

WE ARE TRUSTING YOU TO RETURN THE ITEMS TO US.

OBVIOUSLY THE ACCOUNTS WILL BE CHARGED, THEY WILL BE LOCKED FROM USING THE LIBRARY AND THEN, YOU KNOW, WE WILL GO THROUGH THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO, UM, UM, GET THEM TO, YOU KNOW, PAY FOR THE ITEMS THAT THEY'VE LOST, STOLEN, BROKEN, WHATEVER IT HAPPENS TO BE.

BUT YOU, YOU HAVE TO THINK OF IT IN THE SAME VEIN AS LIKE IF THEY'RE CHECKING OUT A BOOK, BUT, YOU KNOW, WE, WE RESTRICTING OUR BOOKS, BUT IT'S NOT TOO, IT'S YOU 40.

AND SO WHILE THE TOOLS MIGHT BE MORE EXPENSIVE, UM, I THINK THAT LIMITING IT TO JUST TWO ITEMS IS GOING TO, I'M SAYING TWO S, FIVE ITEMS, ONLY TWO OF CAN S THAT'S, THAT'S ABOUT IT.

UM, I DON'T KNOW HOW EVERYONE ELSE FEELS ABOUT THAT.

I, I MEAN I'M ON A TOOL COURSES, I, THERE'S A LOT OF TOOLS, BUT, UH, COULD WE DO LIKE A PILOT WHERE WE LEND OUT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TOOLS MM-HMM.

WITHIN THE SUMMER TO SEE THE RETURN RATE AND THE USAGE, SOMETHING LIKE THAT? YEAH, WE COULD DO LIKE A SOFT LAUNCH OF IT AND SEE HOW MANY, HOW MANY PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, HOW THEY'RE COMING IN AND HOW THEY'RE UTILIZING THEM.

AND THEN WE CAN REVISIT IF WE WANNA LIMIT IT TO TWO POWER TOOLS AND FIVE ITEMS, OR IF WE WANT TO KEEP IT AT THE JUST FIVE ITEMS, JEFF.

UH, SO THESE REBUTTALS, THEY'RE GRANT AND, UH, YES, IF THEY'RE, IF THEY'RE GONE, THEY'RE GONE AND THEY'RE GONE, THAT PART OF THE LENDING PROGRAM WILL BE .

I MEAN THAT THOSE TWO NOT A, UNFORTUNATELY, YES.

I MEAN, UNLESS WE WERE TO APPLY FOR A NEW GRANT OR GET ADDITIONAL FUNDS, THEN IF THE PERSON DID NOT RETURN THE ITEMS, THEN THAT TOOL UNFORTUNATELY WOULD BE LOST TO US.

LIKE I SAID, WE'D OBVIOUSLY TRY TO RE IMPROVE THE COST OF IT AND REPLACE THE ITEM, BUT JUST LIKE WITH ANY MATERIALS IN THE LIBRARY, IF THIS DOES GET LOST, UNFORTUNATELY IT IS, MAY NOT BE, IT MAY NOT WORK.

AND, AND IF A GRANT SEE THAT, THAT IT, IF IT DOESN'T WORK, IT IS, THE PROGRAM FAILS OF ALL OF OUR TOOLS GET STOLEN.

THE LIBRARY DIDN'T ACTUALLY NEED ANY FUNDING.

UM, IT IS A GRANT BASED ITEM AND THEY UNDERSTAND THAT, YOU KNOW, IF SOMETHING HAPPENS, WE PART GRANT AND IF

[00:15:01]

THE LIBRARY DOESN'T SUCCEED, THEN, YOU KNOW, WE, WE BUILD OUR .

SO I, I'M HOPING IF DOES NOT HAPPEN, BUT, UM, IF IT DOES, IT WASN'T ANYTHING THAT THE LETTERS ARE LOST IN TERMS , THIS LIST OF, UM, TOOLS.

I'M SORRY, AM I INTERRUPTING SO MUCH? NO, YOU GO AHEAD AND I'LL GO AHEAD.

UM, THE, THIS IS JUST A LIST OF TOOLS THAT HAVE BEEN PURCHASED.

THERE ARE THERE MORE, SORRY, THAT'S .

SORRY, I APOLOGIZE.

NO, IT'S ALRIGHT.

MY QUESTION MIGHT BE SIMILARLY TO THE NEXT ONE, BUT I, BUT, UM, THE, IT SAYS IN THE, UM, USER AGREEMENT THAT THERE, THAT I, IN HEARING PROJECTIONS SHOULD BE MORE NUMBER THREE MM-HMM.

.

AND I WAS JUST WONDERING IF IT, YOU KNOW, WE ALL KNOW HUMAN NATURE, RIGHT? MM-HMM.

UM, MOST FOLKS ARE NOT GONNA PUT EYE PROTECTION ON, WOULD IT BE JUDICIOUS TO BE ABLE PROVIDE EYE PROTECTION FOR SOME ITEMS? I MEAN, WE CAN LOOK AT ADDING ADDITIONAL ITEMS, UM, AS LONG AS IF IT'S WITHIN THE, UM, BUDGET OF THE GRANT, WE CAN LOOK AT ADDING SOME EYE PROTECTION OR THINGS LIKE THAT.

UM, BUT ESSENTIALLY BY SIGNING THIS WAIVER AND READING IT, YOU ARE SAYING, YES, I'M GOING TO DO THIS THINGS THE THEORETICALLY.

UM, BUT YOU KNOW, THAT'S ALL YOU CAN HOPE FOR REALLY WHEN ANYBODY SIGNS A WAIVER IS THAT YOU'RE HOPING ADHERE TO THE POLICIES THAT WE'VE SET DOWN.

BUT WE CAN, I CAN MAKE A NOTE, WE CAN DEFINITELY LOOK INTO THE, UM, BUYING SOME ADDITIONAL SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR VIRUS.

UM, 4G SAYS THAT TOOLS MUST RETURN PAIN AND THE GOOD CONDITION.

UM, WHAT DETERMIN IS CLEAN AND CONDITION? I MEAN, I THINK IT, YOU KNOW, IT'S A TOOL, SO OBVIOUSLY IT'S NOT GONNA BE SPOTLESS, BUT IF YOU CHECK OUT A TOOL FOR MO AND IT IS, YOU KNOW, COVERED IN DIRT AND IT'S GREASY AND YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY IF USE IT AND DIDN'T CLEAN IT, THEN THAT CONSTITUTE THAT IT'S NOT BEING RETURNED IN THE APPROPRIATE FASHION AND WE WOULD, UM, YOU KNOW, REQUEST THAT, THAT EITHER WOULD BE CLEANED AND RETURNED TO US THE APPROPRIATE FLAG.

AND, UH, WILL YOU TAKE SOME INVOICE? THAT WOULD HELP.

SO, UM, AND WE'RE GONNA USE A, A NEW DATABASE.

THE DATABASE WILL HAVE PHOTOS, SO IT'LL BE A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT THAN OUR TRADITIONAL LIBRARY CATALOG, UM, THAT YOU LOOK AT.

YOU'LL SEE PHOTOS AND THEN YOU'LL BE ABLE TO CLICK ON THE ITEM AND IT'LL GIVE YOU SORT OF A DESCRIPTION OF IT.

I MEAN A PHOTO, OH, THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS AT THIS POINT THAT YOU'RE TAKING IT.

UM, THAT COULD BE A POSSIBILITY.

WE COULD, WE COULD, UM, STAFF COULD DO THAT AS PART OF THEIR, UM, CHECKOUT PROCESS.

COULD BE THINGS LIKE THAT WHEN WE GOT IT.

STAFF COULD DEFINITELY DO THAT, LIKE AS A PRIVATE CHECKOUT PROCESS.

ANYTHING ELSE ON FOUR? UH, ON FOUR.

UM, FOR FOUR B, IS IT SEVEN BUSINESS DAYS OR CALENDAR DAYS? UH, IT'S CALENDAR.

SO IT JUST LIKE A LIBRARY BOOK IS THIRD 2107 DAYS.

OKAY.

OBVIOUSLY IF IT'S A SUNDAY, THEN IT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY LOOK AT THAT MONDAY.

OKAY.

AND ALL HAVE STUDIO WILL BE RETURNED TO LIBRARY STAFF, SO THEY WON'T BE PUT IN THE JOB.

RIGHT.

.

UM, SO STAFF WILL BE ABLE TO VISUALLY LOOK AT THAT WHEN THEY ARE RETURNED TO UPSTAIRS FLOOR.

AND FIVE IT TALKS ABOUT, UM, THOSE ARE THINGS THAT ARE ITEMS THAT ARE NOT RETURNED.

AND IT DEPENDS IN USING A PRODUCTION AGENCY, UM, WHICH IS THE SAME PROCESS THAT'S USED FOR GROSS.

HOW SUCCESSFUL ARE YOU PRODUCTION AGENCY FOR, YOU KNOW, FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME WE DO END UP GETTING OUR MONEY RECRUITED.

THERE ARE, THERE ARE TIMES WHERE THINGS JUST DO GO THING AND PEOPLE UNFORTUNATELY DO NOT CARE THAT THEY'RE BEING SENT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY.

UM, YOU KNOW, COLLECTING AGENCY.

USUALLY ALL THEY DO IS THEY SEND THEM A LETTER LETTING THEM KNOW, YOU KNOW, THIS IS THE FINE ROAD, THIS IS HOW MUCH IT'S GONNA COST.

BUT IF SOMEBODY IS, YOU KNOW, IF IT DOESN'T MATTER TO THEM, IT'S, IT'S NOT GONNA MATTER.

AND I'VE WORKED IN OTHER SYSTEMS AND IT IS THE SAME WAY LIKE THE COUNTY OR THE CITY.

IF SOMEBODY JUST DECIDES THAT THEY DO NOT MIND THE COLLECT, THEN UM, YOU KNOW, DO YOU KNOW THE PERCENTAGE? I DON'T KNOW THE EXACT PERCENTAGE.

WE DON'T, WE DON'T HAVE A LOT OF, UM, MATERIALS THAT GET LOST ALLY.

MOST OF OUR ITEMS DO ARE RETURNED TO US.

UM, SO IT IS A SMALL PERCENTAGE, BUT I KNOW THAT WITH SYMBOL, OUR ELECTRONICS, LIKE OUR COMPUTERS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN RETURNED, A LOT OF THE PEOPLE WHO DO TEND TO TAKE THAT, THEY DO NOT HAVE THAT.

AND THEY, THEY COLLECTION YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO RETAIN MONEY FROM THEM.

[00:20:01]

SO BY HOW MANY REPEATERS HAVE, I WOULD SAY 12.

YEAH, IT'S ABOUT 12 OF THE 30 THAT WE HAVE.

BUT WE DO HAVE INSURANCE.

OH YEAH, WE DO HAVE INSURANCE ON ALL OF OUR ITEMS. SO THE INSURANCE CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR THOSE ITEMS ARE REPLACE THAT? YEAH, WE THEY HAVE ONE.

YEAH, WE HAVE ANY OTHER, UM, WHAT IS THE, UM, FINE FOR OUR RETURNING THE, SO THAT'LL BE ASSIGNED PER ITEM.

IT'LL OBVIOUSLY BE DIFFERENT THAN THE BOOK.

I THINK IT'S GONNA DEPEND ON HOW VALUABLE THE ITEM IS.

UM, BUT WE HAVEN'T DETERMINED SPECIFICALLY WHAT CLIENTS, SINCE WE HAVEN'T RECEIVED ALL OF OUR MATERIALS.

OKAY.

BUT IT WILL BE THE COST OF THE ITEM FOR SURE.

OH, I SEE.

AND THEN IT WAS ENTIRELY LOST.

BUT WE HAVE A PROCESSING FEE OF WHAT IT TAKES FOR US TO BUY THE ITEM, REPLACE AND HAVE LOG OF ALL OF THAT STUFF ON NUMBER ON NUMBER SIX, UM, THE TOP OF ABOUT THE GREEN TO PAY FOR THE LOSS OR DAMAGE TO NEW TOOLS.

UM, MM-HMM.

HOW IS THE COST OF DAMAGE DETERMINED AND HOW WAS IT COLLECTED? SO IT'LL BE THE SAME AS A FINE, ESSENTIALLY.

LIKE IF A BOOK WERE DAMAGED, UM, LET'S SAY IT WAS WATER DAMAGE, THE ITEM WAS TOTALLY SOMETHING WE COULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE ENTIRELY, THEN WE WOULD CHARGE YOU THE PLASTIC, THE ITEM.

IF IT IS SOMETHING THAT'S VERY SMALL THAT WE COULD MAYBE, UM, FIX IN HOUSE, LIKE LET'S SAY I USE BOOKS EXAMPLE, BUT A LIBRARY COVER WAS DAMAGED, WE WOULD CHARGE THEM, YOU KNOW, A $2 REPLACEMENT WOULD BE TO PROCESS THAT ITEM AGAIN AND PUT IN THE COVER AND USE SUPER PROVIDE.

SO THE SAME WOULD BE, UM, DETERMINED BY THE TOOL ITSELF.

SO DEPENDING ON THE PRICE OF THE TOOL AND THE DAMAGE THAT PER YOU WOULD SET, UM, A BUDGET BASED ON THAT.

SO LET'S SAY IT'S A POWER WASHER AND THEY BROKE THE HOSE ON IT, WE WOULD HAVE REPLACE THEM THEN WE WOULD, UH, YOU KNOW, WE WOULD CHARGE THEM THE COST OF THE HOSE AND ANY STACK KIND THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THEM.

AND IT SAYS REPEATEDLY RETURNING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT, WHICH IS LIKE A RED FLAG TO ME REPEATEDLY.

, WHY REPEATEDLY, HOW MANY TIMES DOES IT HAVE TO HAPPEN BEFORE WE SAY, UH, YOU'RE NOT WE SHOULDN'T BE LENDING TO, BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO INTENTION OF RETURN THEM.

SO YOU USUALLY, AND I USE THE BOOK, IT'S THE SAME THING.

SO LIKE IF YOU, YOU KNOW, DAMAGE BOTH WANT, YOU KNOW, SOMETIMES IT HAPPENS TWICE IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN, IT MIGHT HAPPEN MORE OFTEN.

UM, IT, IT IS GONNA DEPEND ON THE PERSON AND THE DAMAGE THAT OCCURS.

SO LET'S SAY THE PERSON IS COMING EVERY DAY AND EVERY TOOL THEY'RE RETURNING IS DAMAGED TWO OR THREE TIMES, THEN OBVIOUSLY THAT PERSON WOULD THE LONGER BE ABLE TO BORROW.

UM, YOU KNOW, IF THEY'RE RETURNING ITEMS THAT ARE CONSISTENTLY DIRTY, THEN WE WOULD NO LONGER ALLOW 'EM TO DRAW ITEMS. SO WE, IT, YOU KNOW, IT'S KIND OF A COUPLE TIMES, YOU KNOW, TWO OR THREE TIMES STAFF OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW, IF YOU BORROW FROM THAT ROOM, YOU'RE GONNA BE ENCOUNTERING THE SAME STAFF MEMBERS.

AND SO THEY'RE GONNA BE FAMILIAR WITH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE, UM, YOU KNOW, USING THE TOOLS APPROPRIATELY, RETURN THEM AND PROCESSING IT.

AND THOSE ARE NOT, WELL THIS IS ALSO REPORTING A LOST MM-HMM.

.

SO, SO I THINK AFTER IT HAPPENS ONE TIME THAT SOMEBODY CHECKS OUT A POWER FIELD, NOT GONNA SAY, OH, WELL I LOST IT.

SO AGAIN, LET'S SAY THEY LOST IT AND THEN THEY REPLACE IT, THEN WE WOULD ALLOW THEM TO CONTINUE TO BORROW BECAUSE OH, I THINK THAT'S A BIG RIGHT.

NO, SO IF IF THEY WERE TO LOSE AN ITEM AND THEY'RE NOT REPLACING IT, THEN THAT WOULD JUST IMMEDIATELY BLOCK THEIR CARD FROM ALLOWING THEM TO CONTINUE TO CHECK OUT.

BUT THAT'S NOT, IT'S NOT STATED, STATED IT SHOULD REPEATEDLY BEFORE.

SO I THINK IT'S MEANT TO BE AN OVERARCHING THING IN CASE THERE'S, YOU KNOW, ISSUES THAT ARISE.

OH, I SEE, I SEE.

LET'S SAY ONE TIME THEY WILL LOSE SOMETHING, THEN REPLACE IT AND THE NEXT TIME THEY'LL LOSE SOMETHING ELSE AND REPLACE IT.

YOU KNOW, LIKE THAT'S OBVIOUSLY A PATTERN THAT WE'LL SEE COMING UP.

UM, YOU KNOW, THIS IS NEW TO US.

UM, I THINK THE TOOL LIBRARY IN GENERAL, MOST PLACES HAVE A LIBRARY OF THINGS, SO THIS IS A LITTLE MORE SPECIFIC.

SO WE'RE TRYING TO COVER OUR BASES BECAUSE WE'RE NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT IS GONNA HAPPEN IN TERMS OF HOW THE PROGRAM WOULD ROLL OUT.

UM, THIS IS JUST OUR INITIAL, WE CAN ALWAYS GO BACK AND REVISE THIS LATER IF WE'RE NOTICING SPECIFIC THINGS OR WE FEEL LIKE WE NEED TO ADD ADDITIONAL ITEMS INTO THIS CONTRACT.

BUT RIGHT NOW, THIS IS JUST KIND OF A BASIS TO GET US STARTED TO SEE HOW THE PROGRAM ACTUALLY IS GONNA WALK HERE IN NATIONAL CITY.

I

[00:25:01]

THINK, UH, JUST A SUGGESTION, I HAVE PART NUMBER SEVEN TO KIND OF ADDRESS MARGARET'S CONCERNS IS IF YOU JUST CUT THE WORD REPEATEDLY AND YOU SAY RETURNING TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT LATE MAY RESULT IN THE RELOCATION OF BORROWING PRIVILEGES, THEN YOU, I THINK THAT COVERS YOUR BASIS BECAUSE THEN YOU COULD, IT COULD BE THE DISCRETION OF THE PERSON WORKING IN THAT ROOM THAT, NO, THIS ONE CASE IS ENOUGH, OR WE'RE GONNA GIVE THEM ANOTHER CHANCE.

YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? SO I THINK THAT COULD ELIMINATE SOME OF THE CONFUSION AROUND THE IDEA OF HOW MANY TIMES, HOW MANY CHANCES DO I GET TO, TO DO THIS.

YEAH.

WE CAN DEFINITELY MAKE THAT CHANGE.

ABOUT THE USER AGREEMENT.

UM, MAY I JUST ASK ONE QUESTION ABOUT KIND OF THE RETURN PROCESS? SO DOES THIS MEAN THAT THE, UM, THERE WILL BE SOMEBODY, ONE PERSON IS STATIONED IN THAT ROOM WHERE EVERYTHING IS STORED? SO WE WILL HAVE, I MEAN THERE'LL BE A, UM, IT'S MOSTLY GONNA BE OUR COMPUTER LOG STAFF THAT, THAT, UM, MONITOR THAT ROOM.

SO THERE'S ONLY ABOUT FOUR OF THEM.

SO IT'LL BE THE SAME PEOPLE FOR THE MOST PART, WHO WILL BE SEEING THE, THE PATRON.

AND IT WILL BE ONLY OPEN DURING A SPECIFIC PERIOD OF TIME DURING THE DAY.

SO YOU'LL HAVE THE SAME, ESSENTIALLY THE SAME STAFF MONITORING ALL OF THOSE ITEMS. UM, SO THEY, THEY SHOULD HOPEFULLY START SEEING FACES AND REMEMBERING PEOPLE.

OKAY.

SO THIS IS AN ACTION ITEM FOR OUR APPROVAL.

MM-HMM.

.

WELL I KNOW THAT WE APPROVE THIS FOR FOUR MONTHS.

OKAY.

HOW WE THAT IN FOUR MONTHS WE COME BACK AND WE LOOK AT SPECIFIC DATA OF HOW MANY CHECKOUTS THERE HAVE BEEN, HOW MANY TERM RATE IS, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE PHYSICALLY.

SO WE WANT TO APPROVE IT TO WELL, FOR FOUR MONTHS AFTER IT INITIATED, WHICH IS JULY.

YES.

JULY, OKAY.

OCTOBER.

, DO WE MAYBE WANNA JUST DO TILL THE END OF THE CALENDAR YEAR, GIVE IT SIX MONTHS BECAUSE WE'LL HAVE FURLOUGH AND HOLIDAYS.

THAT'S AT THE END OF THE WEEK, MONTH HOLIDAYS.

SO FOUR MONTHS WILL BE RIGHT.

BUT DO WE WANNA JUST DO THE END OF THE CALENDAR YEAR THAT WOULD WE HAVE A GOOD TIMEFRAME TO KIND OF SEE WHAT'S WORKING AND WHAT'S NOT WORKING THERE A LITTLE TIME.

AND THERE'S A NATURAL BREAK THERE.

THE HOLIDAY I'M DOING MONTH, MONTH AND HALF MONTHS.

THOUGHT I MOVED, I'VE MOVED THAT WAY.

APPROVED IT FOR SIX MONTHS END YEAR.

SECOND.

SORRY, SECOND TO APPROVE A USER AGREEMENT UNTIL, OKAY.

UH, UH, MARGARET .

AYE.

CINDY AYE.

JUST SAYING.

AYE.

ALRIGHT.

IT, SO THEN WE'LL HAVE A LOT OF DATA FORCE TO DATA.

YOU GUYS BROKEN TOOLS OR BROKEN TOOL.

HOPEFULLY WE HAVE BROKEN TOOLS.

OKAY, SO NOW WE'RE GONNA MAKE THE WAIVER.

WILL THESE MATERIALS BE AVAILABLE IN MORE THAN ENGLISH? UH, YOU MEAN LIKE THE LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH? UH, YOU MEAN LIKE THE, THE MANUAL THAT COMES WITH IT? NO, SORRY, THE, LIKE THE WAIVER AND THE ENGLISH.

OH, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH.

WE WILL HAVE AN ENGLISH AND A SPANISH VERSION OF THE, THE WAIVER.

MAYBE YOU, I CAN, I CAN LOOK INTO TAB.

I, WE HAVE TO FIND SOMETHING FOR STUFF.

[00:30:10]

WE SHOULD UNLINE AGREE TO PAY ALL EXPENSES NEEDED THERE.

TWO ATTORNEY FEES AT COSTS.

I THINK PEOPLE HAVE TO BE VERY CLEAR ABOUT THAT.

MM-HMM.

AND, AND WE WILL, YOU KNOW, WHEN, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THIS IS SORT PILOT, WE WILL MAKE SURE THE STAFF ARE ADDRESSING ONE BEFORE CHECKING OUT, EXPLAINING THE WAIVER, EXPLAINING THE LIABILITY SO THAT THEY'RE AWARE OF WHAT THEY'RE SIGNING AND THEIR RESPONSIBILITY WHEN THEY'RE OUT.

LIKE JUST AT THE BOOK, YOU KNOW, CHECK OUT OUT LOSE IT.

YEAH.

IT'S NOT A BOOK.

CORRECT? IT'S NOT A BOOK.

BUT, UM, YOU KNOW, JUST LIKE WE EXPLAINED WITH ANY SORT OF NEW PROGRAM, WE DO TRY TO GO INTO DETAILS, ESPECIALLY FOR SOMETHING LIKE THIS BECAUSE YOU ARE USING POWER TOOLS AND WE WANNA MAKE SURE YOU ARE SAFE IN USING THOSE ITEMS. SO YES, WE WILL, WE WILL MAKE SURE THAT WE, UM, ADDRESS THAT AS PART OF OUR TELEHEALTH STAFF AS PART OF THEIR CHECKOUT.

I DON'T, I HAVE A SUGGESTION, I DON'T KNOW HOW EFFECTIVE THIS IS, BUT, UM, YOU COULD ASK FOR AN INITIAL BY EACH OF THESE TO SLOW PEOPLE DOWN.

I THINK WE'RE SO USED TO JUST SAYING I AGREE ONLINE TO ALL KINDS OF THINGS, YOU KNOW, SO MAYBE WE GO THROUGH THE FIRST SIX MONTHS AND SORT OF SEE HOW IT'S GOING.

BUT THAT COULD SLOW PEOPLE DOWN TO KIND OF READ EACH ONE OR CONSIDER EACH ONE AND THEN INITIAL IT.

YEAH.

THE SAME WITH THE EYE WEARING EYE AND MM-HMM.

THE EYE PROTECTION.

WE, WE JUST MAKE THESE, UM, YOU KNOW, YOU CAN SIGN EACH INDIVIDUAL ONE.

OKAY.

DOES IT REALLY WORK? I DON'T KNOW, BUT MAYBE IT WILL.

YEAH, MAYBE IT WILL SLOW PEOPLE DOWN AND THEY WILL APPROVE IT AND YOU KNOW, WE CAN HAVE STAFF GO THROUGH EACH ONE AS THEY SIGN THE WAIVER.

THE WORD THIS PLEASE SIGN HERE.

MAY A MOTION MOVE THAT WE NEED TO APPROVE THE WAIVER.

SECOND, MOVE SECOND, APPROVE THE TRIAL.

UTILIZE IFICATION FORM FIVE OF THE CHANGES.

SO ROBIN, AYE SYDNEY.

AYE.

SHE AYE.

ALRIGHT, NOW WE'RE GONNA LOOK AT THE LIST OF TOOLS, WHAT I WAS UNDER.

SURE.

WELL I WAS WONDERING ABOUT THIS, IF THIS IS THE FULL LIST OF ALL THE TOOLS THAT ARE GOING TO BE PURCHASED OR THIS IS JUST WHAT HAS BEEN PURCHASED.

SO WHILE, OKAY.

YES.

SO WE WE'RE IN THE PROCESS OF PURCHASING ADDITIONAL TOOLS, BUT THESE ARE THE ONES THAT ARE CURRENTLY IN THE LIBRARY RIGHT NOW.

UM, WE'RE WAITING ON ADDITIONAL TOOLS.

WE CAN DEFINITELY PROVIDE YOU WITH AN UPDATED LIST WHEN WE, WHEN WE GET THOSE TOOLS IN.

BUT WE PROVIDE YOU WITH THIS LIST BECAUSE WE MAY NOT GET ALL OF THE TOOLS THAT WE ORDERED OR WE MIGHT HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, MAKE A CHANGES.

SO WE WANNA GIVE YOU AN ACCURATE LIST OF ITEMS THAT WE HAVE.

UH, IS THERE LIKE A REQUEST FORM FOR LIKE, UH, NEW TOOLS WE CAN ASK FOR OR? UM, SO I CAN DEFINITELY SUGGEST IT TO, UM, THE, UM, THE STAFF WHO DID THE GRANT, BUT HE DOESN'T HAVE A, A LIST THAT HE BUDGETED OUT BASED ON THE GRANT MONEY THAT HE HAS.

BUT IF YOU DO HAVE SUGGESTION, AND THIS MIGHT BE SOMETHING WE ADD IN THE FUTURE, IF WE WANNA CONTINUE TO GROW THE LIBRARY, WE MIGHT ASK FOR ADDITIONAL SUGGESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC ON WHAT MATERIAL WE HAVE.

WHAT IS THE CRACK CUT? SOMEBODY SEE IT? PRICE CUT.

SO IT'S THE CRICKET I, WE DISCUSS IT.

IT IS, UM, IT'S A REALLY WONDERFUL MACHINE, ESSENTIALLY YOU CAN MAKE CARDS AND T-SHIRTS AND, UM, IT'S PROBABLY ONE OF THE SAFER ITEMS IN THE COLLECTION.

IT'S UM, IT'S GREAT THOUGH.

WELL, THERE'LL BE MORE.

IT'S GONNA BE WILL THERE BE MORE PURCHASES MADE NOW TILL JULY THEN? YEAH.

OKAY.

SO WE, WE ARE, WE HAVE A CURRENT LIST THAT WE'RE WORKING ON.

UM, WE'RE JUST, UM, WAITING FOR OUR PURCHASE ORDER TO GO THROUGH SO THAT WE CAN CONTINUE THE PURCHASE ITEMS. SO THERE WILL BE MORE AND I CAN ALWAYS RETURN AT THE NEXT MEETING.

YOU, UH, UPDATE LIST FILES.

COULD WE GET AN UPDATED LIST WITH PICTURES? SOME OF THESE THINGS THAT LIKE SURE.

YEAH, I KNOW, RIGHT? YEAH.

SO LIKE,

[00:35:01]

LET'S SAY SOMEONE WANTS TO CHECK OUT THE SEWING MACHINE, THEY WOULD ALSO CHECK OUT THE SEWING, MACHINE CARRYING CASE WITH IT, LIKE TOGETHER? OR IS THAT SEPARATE? I DON'T KNOW.

YEAH, USUALLY IN TOTAL BE IN ONE UNIT AND THEN OH, I SEE.

PICK IT UP.

AND A LOT OF THOSE ITEMS, THEY, THEY OF COME TOGETHER TOGETHER.

LIKE IF THERE WAS A CASE OR IF THERE WAS SAFETY EQUIPMENT OR SOMETHING THAT NEEDED TO GO WITH THE ITEMS ARE ALL BUNDLE AND OH, I SEE.

OKAY.

THANK YOU.

I WAS JUST CURIOUS BECAUSE THERE'S JUST BE SO MANY TOOLS MISSING, YOU KNOW, CONSTRUCTION TOOLS, CIRCULAR SAW, TABLE SAW, WHERE ARE THOSE? I DON'T SEE ANY.

THOSE ARE FOUR.

THOSE ARE FOUR? YES.

OH, OKAY.

WE DO HAVE SOME FUN BIG TOOLS THERE.

YOU GUYS ARE COURSE IF YOU EVER WANNA COME BY AND TAKE A LOOK, UH, IT'S OBVIOUS THE SAME PROCESS, BUT WE CAN SHOW IN THERE.

UM, BUT WE ARE WORKING ON SOME OF THOSE, UH, LARGER ITEMS. I, I WAS CURIOUS WHY THERE WAS A SHOP TOOL CALLS.

I THINK IT'S JUST TO CLEAN THE ITEMS AND MAKE SURE THAT, YOU KNOW, YOU KNOW, FOR OUR OWN UPKEEP PERSONALLY TO MAKE SURE, YOU KNOW, JUST DIRT AND THINGS LIKE THAT.

UM, BUT YES, THAT, THAT'S AND NOT TO , NOT TO THE HOW.

CAN YOU TALK A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE PROCESS OF DECIDING WHAT TOOLS TO PURCHASE? SO, UM, ALEX KNEW HE APPLIED FOR THE BRAND, SO HE SPEARHEADED THE PROGRAM AND HE, I THINK LOOKED AT THE COMMUNITY AND THINGS THAT PEOPLE THAT ARE PRICIER, ITEMS THAT PEOPLE, YOU KNOW, MAYBE DON'T USE THAT.

UM, YOU KNOW, LIKE A POWER WAS LIKE, HOW OFTEN ARE YOU USING YOUR POWER WASHER? BUT THEY'RE EXPENSIVE AND THEY'RE EXPENSIVE TO RENT.

AND SO WE LOOKED AT ITEMS THAT WOULD, YOU KNOW, NOT UTILIZE EVERY DAY PER SE, BUT SOMETHING THAT THEY COULDN'T NECESSARILY AFFORD TO GO OUT AND PURCHASE.

OR ALSO HE THOUGHT OF SUSTAINABILITY ISSUE OF LIKE, HE DOESN'T, YOU KNOW, WHY BUY THIS ITEM WHEN YOU CAN JUST BORROW IT FROM US INSTEAD OF, YOU KNOW, YOU BUYING IT AND THEN NOW IT'S GONNA GO IN THE LANDFILL OR WHATEVER HAPPENS, COPY TO IT AFTER, AFTER TIMES SITTING EVEN GARAGE OR WHATEVER THAT HAPPENS TO BE.

SO THAT'S KIND OF HOW HE SOURCED THE LIST.

UM, BUT IT WAS OF COURSE HIM DOING THE RESEARCH AND, AND THESE ARE THE TOOLS THAT HE FELT WAS APPROPRIATE FOR, FOR THE PROGRAM.

AND THE SHELVING HERE IS THE SHELVING FOR THE ACTUAL SPACE, RIGHT? YEAH.

SO, UM, WE HAD TO CREATE SHELVING FOR THE TOOLS AND FOR EVERYTHING TO LIVE WITHIN THE LITTLE ROOM OF LIFE.

ARE THERE ANY OTHER TOOLS THAT ARE HEAVY, LIKE OVER 25 POUNDS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT, THAT PEOPLE WOULD HAVE TO LIKE BE PHYSICALLY ABLE? RIGHT.

THERE ARE SOME, UM, SOME LARGER SAW.

UM, WE HAVE A, OR THE, THERE'S DOY COMING AND THEN THERE'S LIKE A WET TILE SOCK UNDER, THERE ARE SEVERAL ITEMS THAT ARE QUITE HEAVY.

OKAY.

UM, BUT WE WILL HAVE A DOLLY THAT'S AVAILABLE OH, TO TAKE IT TO TO THE CAR.

CAR.

OKAY.

WE AN ELEVATOR SO WE CAN TAKE IT DOWN.

AND THEN WE ARE LOOKING AT THE POSSIBILITY HAVING SOME OF THE LARGER ITEMS, UM, HOUSED DOWNSTAIRS SO THAT YOU DON'T HAVE TO MOVE IT ALL THE WAY DOWN.

OKAY.

IT'LL BE HOUSED, UM, SOMEWHERE DOWNSTAIRS IN THE LIBRARY.

SO THESE EASIER ACCESSIBLE TO PEOPLE ISSUES.

OH YEAH.

.

BUT WE'LL HAVE CARDS AND THINGS AVAILABLE OR HELPING PEOPLE GET ITEMS TO THEIR PRODUCTS.

OH, ARE THERE EVER CONVERSATIONS WHEN THESE KINDS OF PROJECTS COME UP ABOUT WHERE TO PURCHASE THINGS? AND I HAVE SEEN SOMETIMES THAT WE'VE HAD WARRANTS FOR AMAZON.COM.

LIKE DO YOU EVER HAVE CONVERSATIONS ABOUT PURCHASING FROM LOCAL BUSINESSES OR KEEPING THE MONEY IN NATIONAL CITY? NO.

UM, SO WE'RE KIND OF, SO WE BASE EVERYTHING ON THE PURCHASE ORDERS THAT WE CAN CREATE IN ORDER TO BUY THE ITEMS. TRADITIONALLY AMAZON OR HOME DEPOT OR THOSE KIND OF PLACES ARE EASIER TO CREATE PURCHASE ORDERS WITH.

UM, ALSO BECAUSE IT'S A BRAND AND THERE IS A FINE AMOUNT OF MONEY, THEY ALSO LOOK AT THE IDEA OF LIKE HOW MUCH THESE ARE GONNA COST.

SO WHILE WE WOULD FORCE THAT TO KEEP MONEY WITHIN NATIONAL CITY AND PURCHASE ITEMS FROM PEOPLE HERE OR LOWE'S, UM, THERE ALSO IS A FACTOR OF HOW MUCH ITEMS CAN COST AND WE WANNA UTILIZE THE GRANTS TO THE BEST OF OUR ABILITY.

MM-HMM.

.

UM, AND OF COURSE, YOU KNOW, OTHER DEPARTMENTS USE HERE AND SO IF OUR PURCHASE ORDER ISN'T APPROVED IN CERTAIN PLACES, WE DO HAVE TO PIVOT AND FIND OTHER OPTIONS FOR PURCHASING MATERIAL.

YOU DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER, DIXIE, IS THAT DIX LINE NATIONAL SERVICE? I THINK SO.

THAT, THAT MIGHT BE TWO VISTA WE THINK IT IS.

NO, I I I GET CONFUSED, SCATTERED.

THAT LINE IS NOT LINE FOREVER

[00:40:02]

FORTH.

IT'S JUST KIND.

I THINK THAT'S NOW VISTA.

SO, UH, BUT IF WE DO, OF COURSE WE WOULD LOVE TO, YOU KNOW, SURE WE HIGHLIGHT NATIONAL CITY, BUT EVEN WE ARE RESTRICTED TO WHAT WE CAN ACTUALLY, YOU KNOW, GET, UM, PURCHASE ORDER WISE.

AND IF A SMALL COMPANY DOESN'T ACCEPT PURCHASE ORDERS, THEN , BECAUSE HOW CREDIT CARDS ARE USED IS VERY, VERY LIMITED TO MEMBERSHIPS AND TRAVEL.

SO WE COULDN'T EVEN USE THE CD CREDIT CARD TO BUY THE TOOLS BECAUSE IT'S NOT VACATION.

IT'S ALMOST LIKE THE SYSTEM IS SET UP TO FAVOR THE BIG GUY.

WHAT, UNFORTUNATELY, YES.

BUT IT DOES SEEM THAT WAY.

AND, UM, YOU KNOW, IF WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY AND THERE WAS, YOU KNOW, SMALLER PLACES HERE, DEFINITELY.

AND I KNOW THAT, UM, ALEX HAS REACHED OUT TO BUSINESSES HERE AT NATIONAL CITY THAT ARE SMALLER AND, AND IS LOOKING AT THEM AND DOING CLASSES AND TEACHING.

AND THOUGH WE CAN AT LEAST HAVE SOME KIND OF, UM, CORRELATION BETWEEN, OKAY, YOU KNOW, YOU LEARN THIS, WE CAN GO TO THEM, THEY CAN HELP YOU.

SO, UM, WE ARE LOOKING AT PARTNERSHIPS WITHIN NATIONAL CITY AND THE BUSINESSES HERE TO CREATE PROGRAMMING.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TOOLS? UH, I HAVE A QUESTION.

UM, SO LIKE IN THE, LIKE THE HIGH GLUE GUN, DOES IT INCLUDE LIKE THE, THE GLUE OR, OR LIKE THE LAMINATE? DOES IT INCLUDE THE PLASTIC? SO IT'S JUST THE ITEM ITSELF THINK, I THINK THEY SHOULD PUT LIKE, UM, THE AMMO NOT INCLUDED OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

SO PEOPLE UNDERSTOOD THAT IT'S NOT INCLUDED EVERYTHING.

BUT SOMETIMES THEY'RE GONNA BE LIKE, OH, YOU LET ME BORROW WITH IT.

I DON'T, I NEED TO BUY THE GLUE.

I MEAN THE AMMO, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? LIKE I CAN DEFINITELY, WE CAN, AS PART OF OUR, UM, CATALOGING SYSTEM, WE CAN HAVE THESE, YOU KNOW, DOESN'T INCLUDE GLUE STICKS OR DOESN'T INCLUDE LAMINATING PAGES.

UM, AND THEN GIVE MAYBE RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHAT KIND OF GLUE STICKS OR LAMINATING PAGES SHOULD BE BACK.

YEAH, JUST DOWN STAIRS AVAILABLE RIGHT THERE.

THIS AN ACTION ITEM OR THIS IS JUST OH, THEY'VE ALREADY ALRIGHT.

CITY LIBRARIAN REPORT.

WELL, I WANTED TO, UM, PROVIDE YOU ALL WITH ATION, UM, REQUESTED .

THANK YOU.

SO THAT IS OUR PROCLAMATION FROM, UH, THE CITY REGARDING THE PEN.

YEAH.

THANK YOU.

AND NEXT YEAR I'LL MAKE SURE I, OH, UM, OKAY.

SO THE LIBRARY REPORT, UH, MARVIN AND MYSELF ATTENDED THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE MEETING LAST MONTH TO DISCUSS A MURAL.

UM, THE RECOMMENDATION OF THE COMMUNITY WAS TO PASS IT ON TO CITY COUNCIL, BUT THEY DIDN'T MAKE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHICH ITEM THEY PREFER.

MM.

UM, THERE WAS DISCUSSION AT THE MEETING OF, UM, WHAT THE PROCESS IS FOR APPROVING PUBLIC ART.

UM, WE KNEW STAFF MEMBER WHO'S IN CHARGE OF BEING THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE, UM, IS NOT AWARE OF THE PROCESS.

IT, IT DOESN'T APPEAR THAT THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE IS REALLY AWARE OF THE PROCESS.

SO SHE'S GOING TO LOOK INTO IT AND, AND GET BACK TO ME.

AND THEN I'LL PROVIDE YOU GUYS WITH AN UPDATE WHEN I, WHEN I HEAR ONE, I DON'T, I DON'T BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A WRITTEN PROCESS IN PLACE THAT I'VE SEEN.

SO WE WILL DO SOME RESEARCH AND WE'LL PROVIDE YOU GUYS WITH AN UPDATE AS SOON AS YOU HAVE ONE.

UM, SO THAT WAS SORT OF FROM THE PUBLIC ARTS VIDEO, I'M SURE I TOLD YOU IN LATER ABOUT, UM, ANYTHING ELSE THAT OCCURRED? .

UM, SO SEVERAL LIBRARY STAFF, UH, LAST MONTH ATTENDED THE S COOPERATIVE ADULT SERVICES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY.

THES COOPERATIVE IS, UM, A COOPERATIVE THAT THE MAJORITY OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY AND RURAL COUNTY LIBRARIES ARE PART OF.

UM, SO FOR EXAMPLE, IT'S LIKE US, UM, THE COUNTY, THE CITY, CORONADO, OCEANSIDE.

SO ALL THE LIBRARY SYSTEMS, UM, ARE PART OF THIS COOPERATIVE.

UH, AND SO THEY HOSTED AN ADULT SERVICES PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY.

SO SOUTHWEST, THEY SORT OF TALKED ABOUT, UM, NEW IDEAS THAT WE COULD IMPLEMENT IN THE LIBRARIES AND ABOUT, UM, MEETING OTHER LIBRARIANS AN IDEA THEY HAD SOME AVAILABLE.

SO IT WAS A REALLY GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR STAFF TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

AND THIS IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST YEAR THAT

[00:45:01]

NATIONAL CITY HAS PARTICIPATED, UM, AND THAT WE HAVE TO GET SOME POSITIVE COMMUNITY, VERY EXCITING FOR US.

SO, UM, IT WAS A, IT WAS A WELL RECEIVED DAY AND STAFF WERE REALLY CAME, THEY HAD THE OPPORTUNITY FOR GOLF.

IT WAS RARE.

WE HOSTED THE LOW RIDERS.

UH, THEY, OUR LOW RIDER EVENT, UM, LOW RIDING WERE THE AGES ON MAY 18TH.

UH, IT WAS A FAIRLY GOOD TURNOUT.

WE SEEMED REALLY HAPPY.

THE PARKING LOT WAS FROM, WITH LOW RIDERS AND BICYCLES.

UM, THEY DID AWARDS FOR ALL OF THE LOW RIDERS.

WE HAD A DJ, THEY HAD FOOD OUTSIDE.

AND THEN ON THE INSIDE OF THE LIBRARY WE DID AN EXHIBIT OF THE LOW RIDING THROUGH THE AGES, UM, WHICH WAS IN OUR TUMBA AREA.

AND THEN UPSTAIRS WE DO A DISPLAY OF ITEMS FROM THE BELOW THEMSELVES AND THEY'VE COLLECTED OVER THE YEARS.

UM, EVERYONE SEEMED REALLY HAPPY WITH THE EVENT.

UM, WE HAD SOME FAMILY ACTIVITIES AS WELL.

SO IT WAS, IT WAS WELL RECEIVED.

UM, THE DISPLAY IS STILL UPSTAIRS IN OUR LIVING DISPUTE ROOM, UM, THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF THIS MONTH.

SO YOU'RE WELCOME TO COME AND CHECK IT OUT.

YOU'D LIKE TO, TO TAKE SOME THEIR MEANINGFUL ITEMS THAT THEY PROVIDED US.

UH, WE HAVE A NEW PROGRAM THAT STARTED, IT'S CALLED THE DOCUMENTERS.

UH, SO THE DOCUMENTERS IS, UM, IN CONJUNCTION WITH I NEWS SOURCE.

THEY'RE A NONPROFIT.

UH, BUT THE PROGRAM ITSELF IS VERY SEPARATE FROM THAT, IS ESSENTIALLY TEACHING COMMUNITY MEMBERS HOW TO TAKE NOTES AT A PUBLIC MEETING.

THE IDEA IS TO MAKE SURE THAT MORE OF THESE PUBLIC MEETINGS ARE DOCUMENTED AND SEEN AND HEARD.

SO THE COMMUNITY HAS ALL OF THE INFORMATION THEY NEED TO HELP WITH MAKING DECISIONS GOING FORWARD.

THE LAUNCH PARTY WAS ON JUNE 1ST, LAST SATURDAY.

WE HAD ABOUT 30 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE.

SO IT WAS, IT WAS FAIRLY GOOD.

PEOPLE SEEMED REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THE PROGRAM.

OUR VERY FIRST, UM, TRAINING WAS ON MONDAY.

WE HAD ABOUT 20 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE THROUGH THE TRAINING.

THE TRAINING OF THIS, OF TWO PARTS.

IT IS, THE FIRST PART IS ABOUT A TWO AND A HALF HOUR TRAINING.

UM, AND THAT KIND OF GOES THROUGH, UM, WHAT TO LISTEN FOR AT A PUBLIC MEETING, HOW TO TAKE NOTES, HOW TO TAKE UNBIASED NOTES, UM, HOW TO, YOU KNOW, THE THE PROPER WAY TO, UM, YOU KNOW, WHAT YOU NEED TO LISTEN FOR AND, AND THEY SHOULD HAVE WALKED YOU THROUGH.

SO THEY'LL SHOW A VIDEO OF A MEETING AND THEY ASK YOU TO TAKE NOTES.

AND THEN WHAT DID YOU MISS AND, UM, SIGN YOU UP TO BE A DOCUMENTER AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM? THE DOCUMENTERS DO GET PAID.

THEY GET PAID, UM, I BELIEVE IT IS RANGING FROM 18 TO $25, DEPENDING ON IF YOU ATTEND IN PERSON OR VIRTUALLY.

UM, AND ALSO BASED ON HOW OFTEN YOU GO AND HOW, HOW, UM, HOW AND LIKE HOW YOUR NOTES TURN OUT.

SO LIKE IF YOU'RE, YOU KNOW, IF YOUR NOTES ARE BETTER THAN OTHERS, IF YOU'RE REALLY OBVIOUSLY TAKING YOUR TIME AND YOU'VE BEEN DOING IT FOR A WHILE, THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE HIGHER RANGE OF THE SALARY.

OKAY.

IT'S NOT JUST FOR NATIONAL CITY, IT'S FOR THE ENTIRE SAN DIEGO COUNTY.

SO YOU CAN ATTEND MEETINGS IN CORONADO OR SAN DIEGO OR LEMON GROVE AND THOSE ALL COUNT AS, UM, DOC MEETINGS AND THEY USUALLY LIST ABOUT EIGHT TO 10 MEETINGS A WEEK, UM, THAT YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM ON HOW MANY YOU WANNA ATTEND OR WHAT YOU WANNA TO ATTEND.

WHO IS BEHIND THIS? SO IT'S ALL CALLED I NEWS SOURCE.

UM, AND THERE, LIKE I SAID, THERE ARE NONPROFIT AND THE MONEY THAT WAS RAISED FOR THIS WAS ALL FUNDED FROM DONORS, UM, AND, UH, FOUNDATIONS TO SUPPORT THIS PROGRAM.

WE'RE NOT THE FIRST PROGRAM.

IT IS THE FIRST PROGRAM.

AND, UM, SO IN, IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, WE'RE THE FIRST CITY.

OH.

AND THE FIRST PROGRAM STARTED IN CORONADO.

SO CORONADO HAS HOSTED SEVERAL DOCUMENTARY TRAININGS AND IT'S BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL.

UM, THEY'RE ALSO HOSTING A TRAINING IN SAN YI BELIEVE IT'S ALREADY PASSED.

AND THEN THEY'RE HOSTING OUR TRAININGS WITH US NOW.

WE ARE THE VERY FIRST PROGRAM TO OFFER THE TRAINING IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH.

OH, THAT'S COOL.

WHICH IS FANTASTIC.

SO IT IS EVERY MONDAY IN, UH, JUNE, STARTING IN JUNE.

IT SHOULD BE EVERY OTHER MONTH.

SO THE NEXT ONE WILL BE IN JULY OR AUGUST.

AND THE FIRST TWO MONDAYS WILL BE ENGLISH.

SO YOU'LL HAVE YOUR FIRST TRAINING, AND THEN THERE'S A SUPPLEMENTAL TRAINING FOR PEOPLE WHO MIGHT NEED A LITTLE MORE HELP IN TERMS OF WRITING AND DOCUMENTING AND TAKING NOTES.

AND THEN THE NEXT TWO TRAININGS WILL BE SPANISH AND SPANISH ENTIRELY.

SO IT'S, UM, IT'S A GREAT PROGRAM.

WE'RE HOPING WE GET A, A GREAT TURN UP FOR OUR SPANISH GROUP.

UM, BUT IT'S BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL SO FAR.

WHAT IS THE, THE FULL NAME OF THIS PROGRAM? THE DOCUMENTARIES, AND IT'S ONLY FOR THE .

SO IT, IT IS GONNA BE AN ONGOING PROGRAM, BUT THIS IS THE VERY BEGINNING.

WE JUST STARTED DOING IT,

[00:50:01]

UM, THIS MONTH.

SO WE'RE, WE'RE EXCITED.

UM, AND I KNOW CORONADO IS CONTINUING THEIR PROGRAM AS WELL, SO OBVIOUSLY IF IT DOESN'T WORK HERE, THEY, YOU CAN ALWAYS GO OVER THERE AND TAKE THE TRAINING.

AND DURING THE LAUNCH PART, THEY HAD SEVERAL COME AND SPEAK ABOUT HOW IMPORTANT IT WAS AND HOW, UM, BEING ABLE TO GO TO THESE MEETINGS REALLY OPEN THEIR EYES AND THEY'VE LEARNED A LOT OF, A LOT OF THINGS.

UM, SO IT'S, I THINK IT'S GONNA BE VERY, VERY SUCCESSFUL.

SO WE'RE, AND THAT WAS ON THE WEBSITE? THAT WAS ON, UM, IT'S ON, IT'S ON OUR ONLINE CALENDAR OR IT'S ON OUR PHYSICAL CALENDAR.

AND THEN WE HAVE IT ON OUR SOCIAL MEDIA AS WELL.

UM, SUMMER READING WILL KICK OFF THIS SATURDAY.

OH YEAH.

UM, ON THE EIGHTH WE'RE GONNA BE DOING FULL LINE OF PALOOZA, EVERYBODY'S FAVORITE.

UM, SO THAT'LL BE OUR KICKOFF ON SATURDAY.

IT'S GONNA BE AT 1:00 PM UM, AND THEN SUMMER READING, WE'LL RUN THROUGH ESSENTIALLY THE END OF, UM, JULY, ONCE WE'LL GO BACK INTO SESSION, OF COURSE WE'LL CONTINUE TO GET PRIZES, YOU KNOW, A COUPLE WEEKS IN AND, UM, WE'LL BE DOING PROGRAMMING.

UM, STARTING THE FOLLOWING OUR THAT NEXT MONDAY WE'RE STARTING OUR REGULAR PROGRAMMING TO GO WITH SUMMER READING.

SO WE WILL HAVE A, UH, GAMERS WORLD, SO SWITCH PLAYSTATION, VIRTUAL REALITY GOGGLES, BOARD GAMES.

WE'LL BE DOING A, UM, WEEKLY CRAFT.

WE'LL BE DOING A LUNCH AT THE LIBRARY, WHICH ALSO STARTS ON TUESDAY.

WE'LL BE SHOWING A MOVIE ONCE A WEEK.

AND THEN WE'LL ALSO BE DOING OUR BIG PERFORMER.

OUR FIRST BIG PERFORMER IS SUE VAGO, WHICH WILL BE ON TUESDAY.

SO YOU'RE INTERESTED SEEING THE ANIMAL.

THEY'LL BE AT THE LIBRARY.

VERY EXCITED.

UM, AND THAT WILL BE EVERY TUESDAY WE'LL HAVE A SPECIAL PERFORMER.

SO WE'RE GONNA HAVE, UM, MATH, SCIENCE, WE'RE GONNA HAVE, UM, PUPPETS, WE'RE GONNA HAVE SINGING, WE'RE GONNA HAVE JUGGLERS.

SO WE HAVE A WHOLE SLATE OF WONDERFUL PROGRAMMING THAT WAS ALL SPONSORED BY 'EM TO THE LIBRARY.

UM, GRANT.

OH, BY THE LUNCH YOU SAID AT THE, YEAH, SO THE LUNCH AT THE LIBRARY ITSELF WILL START ON TUESDAY.

IT'LL BE TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS.

WE'LL PROVIDE FREE, FREE LUNCHES TO, UM, KIDS, ZERO TO 18 YEARS OLD EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY, UM, UNTIL THE MIDDLE OF AUGUST.

SO THAT SHOULD BE REALLY EXCITING AS WELL.

AND I THINK THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE'VE DONE THAT IN, IN SEVERAL YEARS.

SO THE COMMUNITY'S VERY HAPPY AND THE SHOWS WHAT HAPPENS EVERY TUESDAY.

UH, IT JUST, IT, SO WE HAVE A, UM, SUMMER READING CALENDAR.

AND THE SUMMER READING CALENDAR HAS ALL OF OUR PROGRAMS ON IT.

UM, IT'S ALSO INCLUDED IN OUR, UM, THE, UH, BROCHURE THAT THE KIDS TAKE HOME WHERE THEY LOG THEIR HOURS.

SO THEY'LL HAVE EVERYTHING ON THERE AND IT'LL BE UP TO DATE.

UM, IT'LL ALSO BE ON OUR CALENDAR AND THEN, UM, IT SHOULD BE ON OUR ONLINE CALENDAR, BUT IF IT JUST SAYS SPECIAL PERFORMANCE, THEN YOU KNOW THAT THERE'S A SPECIAL PERFORMANCE AT O'CLOCK.

I SEE.

UM, BUT WE WILL TRY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE ONLINE CALENDAR REFLECT WHAT IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING DURING THAT TUESDAY.

UM, BUT THE OTHER PROGRAMS, THE, UH, WEDNESDAY, THURSDAY, FRIDAY PROGRAM WILL BE CONSISTENT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF, UM, SUMMER READING.

UH, AND THEN WE WILL HAVE OUR FINALE ON AUGUST 3RD, I BELIEVE WILL BE OUR FINALE.

AUGUST 3RD OR AUGUST 10TH.

I, I CAN'T REMEMBER FOR SURE.

UM, BUT IT'S RIGHT AFTER THE DAY OF PLAY FOR, IT'S THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY AFTER THE DAY OF PLAY AT GARDENS AT OLIVE, YOU SAID? YEAH.

OLIVE GARDENS, I BELIEVE THEIR DAY OF PLAY IS ON THE 27TH.

OH.

END OF AUGUST.

SO THE JULY WILL BE THEIR, THEY PLAY AND THEN WE WILL DO IT THE FOLLOWING SATURDAY.

SO WE ARE NOT COMPETING WHAT WE DID LAST YEAR.

OH, OKAY.

WE WANNA MAKE SURE EVERYBODY GETS AN OPPORTUNITY TO COME.

YEAH.

UM, LET'S SEE.

THE LAST NIGHT AT THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING, THE BUDGET WAS APPROVED FOR SCHOOL YEAR 25.

UM, OUR REQUEST FOR FISCAL YEAR 25 WAS THE ADDITION OF, UH, THE FULL-TIME CITY LIBRARIAN AS WELL AS AN ADDITIONAL CHILDREN'S LIBRARIAN, WHICH WILL BOTH APPROVED IN THIS NEW FISCAL YEAR.

OH WOW.

UM, SO WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

OBVIOUSLY IT'S GONNA BE A PROCESS TO INTERVIEW AND REPLACE THOSE POSITIONS, BUT, UM, JUST SO YOU KNOW, THAT IS SOMETHING THAT WAS APPROVED AND SHOULD BE COMING HOPEFULLY SOONER RATHER THAN LATER.

TWO NEW PEOPLE THEN WE'RE VERY EXCITED, VERY EXCITED FOR STAFF.

UM, SPEAKING OF STAFF, WE ARE HAVING SOME STAFF CHANGES THAT ARE OCCURRING.

SO I THINK I MENTIONED AT OUR LAST MEETING, NIKKI OMO, WHO IS OUR LITERACY COORDINATOR, HE HAS BEEN OFFICIALLY PROMOTED TO OUR MANAGEMENT ANALYST TO POSITION AND THE LIBRARY ENTIRELY.

THE POSITION USED TO BE SPLIT BETWEEN US AND COMMUNITY SERVICES.

NOW THE LIBRARY

[00:55:01]

IS ABSORBING THAT AS A WHOLE POSITION.

UM, WE ARE GOING TO PIVOT FROM WHAT DAVID HOUSTON WAS BEFORE AND THE POSITION NOW WILL BE FOCUSED MORE ON LITERACY AND GRANT WRITING SPECIFICALLY SO THAT WE CAN GROW THE LITERACY DEPARTMENT MORE.

UM, SO WE ALREADY HAVE A VERY ROBUST DEPARTMENT.

MM-HMM.

.

AND WE CONTINUALLY HAVE A LOT OF INTEREST AND WE JUST DON'T HAVE ENOUGH SUPPORT.

WE FELT LIKE THIS WAS A GOOD OPTION TO SORT OF PIVOT THAT POSITION A LITTLE BIT, TO FOCUS MORE ON GROWING THAT DEPARTMENT AND ADDRESSING THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY.

UM, THE OTHER POSITION THAT WE HAVE, UM, SARAH IS GOING TO BE LEAVING THE LIBRARY.

SHE HAS BEEN, UM, PROMOTED.

SHE'S GOING TO BE OUR PUBLIC INFORMATION OFFICER FOR THE CITY.

COOL.

UM, WE'RE VERY EXCITED.

I'M NOT REALLY NO .

I, I, SHE VERY MUCH DESERVES IT.

WE'RE VERY EXCITED FOR HER.

CONGRAT.

CONGRATULATIONS.

THANKS.

UM, WE ARE GONNA MISS HER.

OF COURSE.

SHE'LL BE STAYING WITH US THROUGH THE END OF JUNE.

UM, AND THEN SHE'LL BE TRANSITIONING OVER TO THE, UM, CITY ALL THE RIGHT HERE.

OH, OKAY.

YAY.

IT'S BEEN QUITE AN HONOR AND PRIVILEGE TO WORK WITH ALL OF YOU, SO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE LAST TWO AND A HALF YEARS.

REALLY ENJOYED IT.

SHE'S JUST RIGHT THERE.

OKAY.

.

YEAH.

OKAY.

SARAH, I NEED SOMETHING.

SO IS THERE GOING TO BE A NEW PERSON TAKING SARAH'S PLACE? SO THERE ALSO IS ANOTHER STAFF MEMBER WHO'S LEAVING.

OH.

SO OUR TECHNICAL SERVICE IS LIBRARIAN.

TIFFANY, UH, ROBERT.

SHE IS MOVING TO GEORGIA, ATLANTA.

SO SHE'LL BE LEAVING US ALSO AT THE END OF JUNE.

UM, CURRENTLY, UH, WE HAVE SARAH'S POSITION LISTED AS OPEN FOR RECRUITMENT NOW.

I BELIEVE IT CLOSES THIS WEEK OR NEXT WEEK.

UM, WE'VE ALSO OPENED MICKEY'S PREVIOUS POSITION, UM, AS ACADEMIC ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR FOR THE LITERACY DEPARTMENT.

AND SO I BELIEVE THAT CLOSES NEXT WEEK AS WELL.

AND THEN TIFFANY'S POSITION SHOULD GO LIVE, I BELIEVE NEXT WEEK.

SO WE'LL BE DOING INTERVIEWS TO REPLACE THE THREE POSITIONS WE CURRENTLY HAVE VACANT.

UM, SO BEAR WITH US FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

WE'RE DOWN TO VERY FEW FULL-TIME STAFF MEMBERS AT THE MOMENT.

UM, BUT OF COURSE IF YOU EVER NEED ANYTHING, WE'RE ALWAYS YOU.

WE'LL DO OUR BEST TO HELP YOU GUYS.

UM, SO THOSE ARE KIND OF THE POSITIONS THAT ARE, THAT ARE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

AND THEN I WILL OF COURSE GIVE YOU UPDATES WHEN WE DO HIRE, YOU KNOW, NEW STAFF AND THEN WHEN THE RECRUITMENTS HAPPEN FOR THE CHILDREN'S LIBRARY AND THE CITY LIBRARY.

UM, A COUPLE BUILDING ISSUES.

SO, UM, THE LIBRARY WILL BE GETTING A NEW FRONT DOOR.

WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF HAVE THAT HAPPENING NOW.

WE'VE CHOSEN THE REPLACEMENT MODEL.

UM, IT'LL BE A MUCH MORE SIMPLIFIED DOOR SO THAT IN CASE THERE IS SOMETHING THAT OCCURS , UM, IF THERE IS SOMETHING THAT OCCURS, THE DOOR BREAKS, IT'LL STILL BE ABLE TO BE PULLED OPEN AS OPPOSED TO HAVING IT OPEN AT ALL TIMES, WHICH WILL PREVENT, UM, YOU KNOW, AIR CONDITIONING ESCAPING OR DIRT COMING IN OR OTHER THINGS GOING IN.

SO NOISE.

SO IT'LL BE A, A GENERALIZED, A BETTER DOOR JUST IN TERMS OF, UM, FUNCTIONALITY.

WHILE THE DOOR IS BEAUTIFUL, I LOVE THE GLASS FLOOR.

IT'S JUST NOT AS FUNCTIONAL AS IT AS IT COULD BE.

AND HOPEFULLY THIS ONE WILL LAST A LOT LONGER.

UM, WE ALSO FOUND OUT TODAY THAT, UM, THEY HAVE APPROVED THE, UM, HIRING OF A NEW JANITOR FOR THE LIBRARY SPECIFICALLY.

SO THE LIBRARY WILL BE GETTING A NEW JANITOR.

NOW, OF COURSE THEY HAVE TO GO THROUGH THE PROCESS OF, YOU KNOW, ONBOARDING, BUT WE'LL BE GETTING A NEW JANITOR SO THAT THE LIBRARY IS, UM, SERVICED ON A FREQUENT, REGULAR BASIS.

WONDERFUL.

THAT'S GREAT.

YEAH, I WAS VERY EXCITED HEAR.

RIGHT.

UH, THAT IS ALL I HAVE ON TALKING.

WELL THAT'S QUITE IT.

UM, LAST MEETING I ASK IF YOU COULD GET OH, RIGHT.

YES.

SO SARAH AND I HAVE DISCUSSED IT.

I'LL PROVIDE YOU A WRITTEN REPORT OF THE NEXT MEETING, BUT OBVIOUSLY WE HAD ALREADY PREVENTED PRESENTED THIS AND SO WE OBVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN THE AGENDA, BUT I WILL INCLUDE IT IN THE NEXT AGENDA AS PART OF WE TALKING ABOUT, YOU REMEMBER HOW WE USUALLY WOULD GET FROM THE CITY LIBRARIAN'S REPORT? SHE WOULD HAVE, OH, SHE WOULD HAVE IT.

SHE REPORT US.

IT WOULD BE WRITTEN OUT FOR US TO READ AHEAD OF TIME AND THEN FIND THE THAT'S RIGHT.

WE'RE HAVE TO TAKE ALL THE NOTES.

RIGHT.

SALES, BUT YEAH, NO, DEFINITELY FOR THE NEXT MEETING I'LL PROVIDE YOU ANY QUESTIONS.

THE CITY LIBRARIAN.

[01:00:01]

OKAY.

UH, FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY, WE, UH, STILL NEED SOME MORE VOLUNTEERS.

IF ANY OF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT'D BE INTERESTED IN WORKING IN THE, UH, FRIEND STORE, PLEASE LET US KNOW.

WE ARE NOT SURE IF THERE'S GOING TO BE A CITY BREAKFAST THIS MONTH.

SO THERE WILL NOT BE A COMMUNITY BREAKFAST THIS MONTH.

IT WILL BE NEXT MONTH THAT BELIEVE ON JUNE 13TH, TENTATIVELY 13TH, JULY 3RD.

OKAY.

SO THAT'S USUALLY WHERE THE FRIENDS WILL GO AND SET UP THE DATES TO.

OKAY.

SO, UM, BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS.

OKAY.

UM, CINDY, DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS? UM, DID YOU TALK ABOUT THE, THE A AS THE CITY COUNCILMAN ON THAT OR DESIGNED? SO THE, UM, WHEN WE WENT TO THE PUBLIC ARTS COMMITTEE, THEY, THEY VOTED TO PASS ON THE MURAL SELECTIONS TO CITY COUNCIL, BUT WITH NO RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE MEETING.

OKAY.

OKAY.

UM, AND WITH A STIPULATION THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MORE INPUT IN SELECTIONS OR THE, THE PROCESS OF SELECTIONS GOING FORWARD.

OKAY.

UM, ARE WE ABLE TO GO FOR PUBLIC COMMENT AND ALSO GET OUR RECOMMENDATION OF THE ONE? YEAH.

AND THEY'LL BE MAKING THAT DECISION 18TH, THE NEXT ONE? IT IS, IT'LL PROBABLY BE MOST LIKELY IN AUGUST BECAUSE OH, OKAY.

JULY.

THE CITY COUNCIL DOES TAKE A BREAK YEAH.

FOR THE SUMMER.

SO I WILL, I'M GONNA TRY ON THIS AGENDA, BUT I THINK THAT THAT WILL BE ON THE FIRST AGENDA AND OKAY.

AND SINCE WE HAVE THE MORE TIME, THEN THEY'RE STILL GONNA GO WITH THE SAME FIRST ELECTIONS AND THE SAME ARTISTS.

OKAY.

UM, BUT I WILL BE DISCUSSING WITH THE CITY MANAGER PRIOR TO SUBMITTING EVERYTHING TO, UM, CITY .

OKAY.

JUST TO MAKE SURE WE'RE ALL ON THE SAME PAGE.

MM-HMM.

.

UM, AND THERE WILL BE ANOTHER MEETING IN BETWEEN IF THERE ARE ANY UPDATES REGARDING THAT.

OH, OKAY.

PRIOR TO YOU GUYS? YEAH.

OKAY.

THANK YOU.

OKAY.

I WANTED TO BRING UP THAT, ACCORDING TO OUR, UM, BYLAWS, WE'RE ABOUT FIVE MONTHS BEHIND IN HAVING OUR OFFICER'S ELECTION .

SO EVERY JANUARY THERE'S SUPPOSED TO BE AN ELECTION FOR OFFICERS.

SO I WOULD LIKE TO PUT THAT ON THE AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING THAT WE HAVE.

UH, THAT WAS MY AND ALSO IT'S IN THE BYLAWS THAT WE LET, UM, WELL DANIEL OR WHOEVER'S GOING TO BE WORKING WITH DANNY KNOW 72 HOURS AHEAD OF TIME, UH, WHETHER OR NOT WE'LL BE ATTENDING OH, ABSENCES.

JUST SEND HER A RESPONSE WHEN SHE SENDS OUT THE, UM, AGENDA.

I'LL SEE YOU THEN I'LL DO WHATEVER.

I WON'T BE ABLE TO MAKE IT.

WHATEVER.

I NEVER COMMENT I USE.

RIGHT.

AND THAT'S ALL I HAVE.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR REPORTS.

SARAH.

MEETING WILL BE MISSED BECAUSE I KNOW IT WILL LEAST BE CLOSE TOO.

SHE'LL BE TOO FAR.

CONGRATULATIONS.

YAY.

THANK YOU.

SHE CAN NEVER, YEAH, .

ALL RIGHT.

WELL THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH.

WE'LL ADJOURN THE MEETING AT 6 34.

ALRIGHT.
